Hello everyone, Dad Terry with another update. Gracie had a good day. Although she said no and would not tolerate the nebulizer, the new antihistamine and appetite stimulant seemed to help. Gracie ask them to hold the plate up for her so she wouldn’t have to bend over to eat. They did, and she did eat on her own, and a good bit too! Some of her snootyness seems to be clearing up too.
I just got back from the hospital a bit ago and she told me know to feeding her with my finger, she just wanted be to hold the plate up for her. She ate a good bit and I was really proud of her. She also did a big pee while I was there. That little Gracie had a lot to say tonight, she was talking up a storm and purring and head butting me. She is still in the oxygen cage but she wanted to crawl out through the little portal door. Gracie spend a good bit of time out of the oxygen cage today and seemed to tolerate it pretty darn good. But since she spent the time out today her Dr. eanted her back in oxygen for the night.
Brian is still a bit snotty and so is Precious. I have them both on a new antihistamine and hopefully they will be improving soon. It sure is taking a long time to kick this bug in the butt so keep sending those purrs, woofs and prayers.
Thanks for all your concern and love!
All, just a real quick update. Gracie’s lungs are continuing to clear from the pneumonia so we are really happy about that. The culture they did from the phlegm she was coughing up showed nothing of note. The good news from the culture is that they saw dead bacteria, which is good. The really good news from the culture is that there were no signs of any cancer cells at all, really great news. So, as the pneumonia continues to clear they are treating whatever upper respiratory problem that is distressing her. They are starting a different antihistamine along with an appetite stimulant and are going to see if she will tolerate a nebulizer as several of you have suggested.
Keeps those purrs, woofs and prayers coming, we all appreciate them so very, very much.

Gracie’s Mom visited her this afternoon and Gracie was not too interested in eating. I went to visit her this evening and I feed her by hand, more like by finger. I stuck my finger in the wet food and then opened her mouth and put the food in. She was very, very good and ate 1/4 of a 3 oz can, which is the normal amount she usually eats at meal time. So, I was pleased and she seemed pleased. She is still very snotty and, like Miss Precious, when she bend over to eat…well, you get the picture. She gave me quite a few head butts, a purr or two, and a couple of mews. She seems confused by the whole ordeal. It is a very busy place and it sure doesn’t have the quiet of home.
Keep those purrs and prayers coming, I know she can feel the love, we all do.
Howdy All, Dad Terry again.
It has been so hectic, I forgot a couple of things…
For the first time we have an actual Christmas Card this year. If you would like to receive one from us, please click on the link below and send me your mailing address.
Yes, send us a Christmas Card
Then, since I am an old techy nerd, some techy friends of mine at Angel Hack, along with Purina ONE and GOOD are partnering together to help Karma Rescue, a local Los Angeles animal rescue group, redesign its digital presence so that it can drive more adoptions. They have asked me to help spread the word. So if you are on Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn or Pinterest, kindly share the following link to the post I did about this cool event. Thanks so much.
Now for a quick update: Gracie’s lungs appeared to be a little clearer this morning, which is good. However, she is not wanting to eat for them, so please send purrs and prayers for her to start eating. Her Mom is going by this afternoon to see if Gracie will eat for her and I will be visiting this evening to try and get her to eat for me. It will be later when I get home this evening but I will try to post a quick update.
