Happy 5th Gotcha Day Sister Dolly

Adopt Tigger ADOPT TIGGER

Happy Gotcha Day Sister Dolly! Brian's Home. Adopt cats, we deserve it!

Today we want to say a special Happy Gotcha Day to Sister Dolly.  It is really hard to believe that it has been five years already.  We are all so happy to have her as a part of our family and she is a very, very special lady.

Sister Dolly had an awfully rough go of it of a while, but thanks to the efforts of many she was able to find her way to where she was meant to be, in her forever home.  I am not going to repeat all of Dolly’s story, but for those of you who are new it would be great if you could go read this post about her.

Hijack Tuesday – The Social Media Rescue

The whole thing for us started with a post by the incredible Robin Olsen from Covered in Cat Hair.  Robin had done a post about a poor kitty in South Carolina.  After several retweets on twitter our Dad saw a tweet from a rescue group far away from CT and SC. Dad, in an effort to help, asked where in South Carolina.  When the rescue group responded with Greenville, SC, which is where we live, and he saw the photo, he just knew where she was going to live.  Our Dad finally got to meet Robin at the Purina Better with Pets Summit in NYC.

Here are the links to two posts that Robin did about Sister Dolly:

Not on My Watch: Dilute Cali Caught in the Middle

Not on My Watch: More about the Dilute Kitty

We all often see posts about cats and dogs needing help to find their forever homes.  Sister Dolly can tell you first paw that social media sharing does work.  You just never know when the post, the tweet, the pin, the Facebook post, the Instagram pic, will land in front of the right person.  When that happens, so does the magic.

So, once again thanks to everyone who helped save this beautiful kitty and for getting her home where she belongs.  Happy Gotcha Day Sister Dolly!!!

CRITICAL: Only 2 Days (October 28th) to Save Henry and Ralph – Greenville, SC

henryandralph01
This is super critical. Henry and Ralph were trapped as a part on a TNR project along with their Mother and two other kittens. The Mom and the other two kittens have been fostered.  Henry and Ralph are super sweet and deserve to live.

Tuesday they will be put back out, without their Mother.  The only source of food for them requires them to cross a busy highway.  They will not survive.

Please share and contact me at terry (at) foreverhomewanted (dot) com if you can help.

Easy Like Sunday and a Selfie with Zoe

Adopt Tigger ADOPT TIGGER

Brian's Home, adopt cats, we deserve it.

Sister Zoe is just getting ready to nod off on her Easy. I do know she would enjoy it if you would come keep her company!

By the way, Sister Zoe doesn’t listen to me very well.  I was trying to give her some pointers on the selfie thing but she pretty much told me to butt out!

Brian's Home, adopt cats, we deserve it.
Actually, her selfie turned out pretty good.  We hope you all have a darn good Easy Sunday! Remember, adopt cats, we deserve it!!!!!  More Forever Homes More Often! Purrrrr! Zip! Later!

Sister Saturday with an Update from Zoe

Adopt Tigger ADOPT TIGGER

Brian's Home, adopt cats we deserve it!

Update from Dad:  Now Zoe is not wanting to eat again and we are feeding her.

Hello everyone. Let me tell you, I sure have had a time of it and I so appreciate all the purrs and well wishes you have sent my way. Brother Brian and Dad told me about each one of them.

I had my tummy cut open on October 10th, and they had to open up my stomach too.  The Vet told me that I had one huge furball in there and that is why I didn’t want to eat.  I know Brian told you, but that furball was almost as big as a baseball.  I had to go back on October 17th and get my stitches and staples removed.  The Vet said I healed up beautifully, so that’s a good thing.

Now I am supposed to start eating on my own again.  Well, I have, and it has been slow picking up the pace.  Some days I eat more than others.  Maybe I’m just out of practice. After I was done with my antibiotics and pain meds I did start to pull out my fur again. Yikes!  Dad had taken me off of the Atopica, which helps me not pull out my furs, because he thought maybe that was causing me to stop eating.  Since that “likely” wasn’t the case, it was my furbaseball, the Vet said to put me back on the Atopica.  Guess what happened?  I quit pulling out my furs and I quit eating again.

So, the Dad has decreased my daily dose and now I am to the point where I am eating again and not pulling out my furs.  I haven’t been eating a whole lot of any one food, but I have been eating some of a whole lot of different foods.  I’m pretty sure that Dad has bought just about every cat food ever made.  Well, not really, but let me tell you there are cans and cases of food everywhere.

So, that’s where I am as of today.  I have seemed more alert and I did discover that ham is really, really yummy.  This has been a slower healing process than I thought it would be, but I am sure trying my best.  I love you all.

Oh, one more thing, I’m going to be doing the Easy tomorrow and I’m going to try my paw at the selfie thing, if I feel up to it.  Remember, adopt cats, we deserve it!!!!!  More Forever Homes More Often!  Purrrrr! Zip! Later!
